Locale Bar, Florence

Remember, once I wrote about a vermuteria in Barcelona, located, as it turned out, in a landmark building with spikes? This is my ideal sightseeing. I like it when the blocks of stone and brick, in addition to their historical significance, carry life, the city vibe, the modern side of it. This is when the ‘attraction’ ceases to be a museum, but becomes something living and tangible. And the bar-restaurant Locale in Florence is exactly it.

Mad Souls & Spirits Bar, Florence

On the other bank of the decorous and museum-ish Florence there is a street that goes against all classical perceptions of this city. The street buzzes, carouses, beeps, moves in two back and forth torrents, owing to the bars located on it – just like Rubinstein St. in St. Petersburg. And the best self-proclaimed bar of Europe and Micronesia (just like this) Mad Souls & Spirits can be also found there.

Manifattura Tabacchi, Florence

Quite unexpectedly, Florence opened up to be a touching museum-ish, but party-all-night-long-ish and noisy; it was holding its own cocktail festival Florence Cocktail Week. It was hard to get into all of these participating bars, but there was no way to skip, for instance, Manifattura Tabacchi, a unique place that conquered my heart.
